If meta tags are there, you will see something like: META name=keywords content=... followed by the keywords you have chosen. If the tags are not there, think about adding them, or asking your designer to do so. To find out how popular your site is, type “free link popularity check” into a search engine and click on one of the sites that offer a check. If you find your popularity is low, it might be a good idea to start a link popularity campaign. Find sites similar in content to yours, which themselves have a good ranking, and place a link to them on your site. Then send a polite e-mail telling them you have linked to them, and ask if they will link to you in return. Some won’t be interested, especially if you are new. But even if just a few agree to link to you, it will help you in two ways: it will boost your ranking, and it will in itself increase the targeted traffic to your site.
